service with British army during W.W.2, Malaya with the Rhodesian African Rifles awarded mention in despatches, died 23 December 1974

in a helicopter crash whilst visiting troops guarding the border.

the medals are as worn by MGen Shaw with the insignia of the Distinguished Conduct Decoration seperate as he was gazetted the award but as at the time of his death it had not been presented with it.
