I've had this buckle for some time.

No one I know is a TR belt buckle expert.

Is this a period buckle and if so for what unit?

Thank you all in advance.

A generic German belt buckle made by Robert Dold of Offenburg (RODO).  Blank round Officer belt buckles are shown in the Assmann catalog but blank rectangular Enlisted style buckles are not and they made about everything.  I suppose a blank buckle could be used for about any organization that did not have a specific belt buckle style.

Perhaps someone else will comment on your specific use.

Thank you, Sir.

Most likely a blank-unfinished buckle that was used after the war, supplies of ANYTHING were scarce, a lot of Third Reich items were re-purposed out of necessity..

That makes sense considering their economy post war.

Thank you for your input.
