Had a collector bring a small pile of Japanese army clothing in yesterday.

 

This piece was in the pile.

 

It has been tailored from an issue raincoat, but from top of collar to lower hem it is 36 inches, and armpit to armpit is 34 inches.

 

The way the belt has been sewn to the front it makes me think of a nurses piece.

 

Has anyone every seen one like it before?

 

Is it for a nurse or did someone re-tailor an adult coat to fit a child?
