I have had this a while and assumed it was old as it is unlike the modern snug fit French Berets that I have seen. It is marked size 59 inside with maker name WEB?? NANC? (the maker stamp is only partially readable) and there apears to be the remains of a paper label or somesuch. It does not appear to have been heavily used.
