Small Eagle with crossed swords, Iron Cross, and swastika, maybe a tie pin (?)

I don't know a lot about Third Reich items. This came with some World War 2 RAF items so I assume was brought back after the war. It is a small light-metal eagle with an Iron Cross and crossed swords on the eagle; the eagle is holding a wreathed swastika below. It is mounted on a brass pin that has banding on the middle section. On the reverse it is marked GES and GESC? (not sure what is after the C) on either wing repsectively and has an 8 at the bottom on the reverse of the swastika. I really don't know much more about it; it looks like a tie pin. Maybe.

NSRKB Nationalsozialistische Reichskriegerbund Veteran Association Member Stickpin

These are referred to as stickpins. Popular even today in Germany. I have all of my Opa and Onkels (grandfather and Uncle).

This is a version for German veterans of World War One. The organization was called the Kyffhäuserbund or Reichskriegerbund. Ges. Gesch. means gesetzlich geschützt or registered trademark. There was a cap eagle version as well.

Thank you very much both, for the identification and detailed description, it's the only Third Reich item I have so I have labelled it for posterity.
