Very nice. I am wondering if this was from when they still flew Mustangs, or after they had converted to the F.8 Meteor?

Unlike "Zippo" base-stamps, Japanese lighter base-stamps yield no clues to the exact year of manufacture. Thanks for your interest Obviousman. RAAF 77 Squadron F-51s at Iwakuni 1950.
