April 9, 20224 yr #1 I just came across (see link) a number of collectors bidding on what I feel is a reproduction of a very rare WW2 Hungarian paratrooper badge. It does not match known examples and the bidding is up to $570.00. For years now someone in Hungary has been reproducing WW2 era Hungarian paratrooper insignia and this is one of them. April 9, 20224 yr #2 I think,especially at online auctions,collectors want it to be real and can be delusional as to authenticity.Also it amazes me how lazy or derelict some can be about doing their research! Case in point,currently there is a lot on eBay there is a set of 10 Reichsbahn cuffbands being offered as original.Basic internet search will show you the same 10 being sold by a crook dealer in Colorado for $20.
