I’m looking for some help on this badge… looks like it’s a hat badge.  Most badges I’ve seen are enameled.  This one might have been painted but the paint has worn off.  It measures about 1 1/8” in diameter.

 

Any idea of age?  Late 1930’s?

Looks like a large decretive coat button to me. Civilian not military.
