Picked this up to day.

What do you all think about it? Age? Authenticity?

All opinions appreciated.

I'm not an expert on these but I know they have been heavily reproduced.  I've keep photos of a couple of these badges for my reference that I felt were real and they match your piece with the raised manufacture name and address.  I assume these were worn during the French Indochina War era prior to the US involvement in the South Vietnamese War.

So, is this a beret badge or something worn on the chest?

I like it. These are two sets from the first and Second Indochina Wars.

I believe the same 7th AB design was used on their patches during the 2nd Indochina War (The American War)
