Hello from Idaho state, in the United States!

I have a longstanding interest in the WWII era, and Vietnam War era. Personally, I am fascinated by the remarkable technology present in the aircraft of WWII from all the countries.

Collect Personally:

I college hand mechanic tools from the WWII era, when I come across them. I have found that the Snap-On company stamped the tools made specifically for the US armed services a certain way, and sometimes I find those on eBay. Any of the packaging and signage that I can find from 'Americana' from the WWII area is interesting, usually things like packaging from tools, paper signs from businesses, and post cards. This gives a glimpse into the seriousness of events happening at that time.

Aircraft:

Anytime I can visit WWII aircraft on display, it is truly remarkable. Whether a freight, trainer, or war bird -- that is the great displays of the leading machines of the era. I recently learned that a woman Beatrice Shilling PhD MSc, designed the Spitfire airplane's carburetor float bowl to operate in positive and negative gravity applications, making that airplane have great advantages in battles. I have a set of pictures that I can post in the appropriate place in this forum of the fleet of WWII war birds I captured when on display from the Collings Foundation (B-17, etc.).

Documentary:

I am unable to find it right now, but I watched a three-part long series on NetFlix in about 2014 called "The Great War" and if my memory recalls correctly, segments of the WWII are chronicled through solidiers correspondence. I am sure I can find it sometime, but after some cursory research I am unable to find its right citation.

Looking forward to some positive experiences, learning about the areas of history I am interested in.
