I was lucky to find this beret at the flea market yesterday for 15 dollars.  I believe it is an Infantry beret for a second-lieutenant based on the sewn on bullion insignia.  The seller told me that it belonged to a relative who wore this in Italy circa 1950s and is named Mario Accornero.  I'm not an expert on Italian berets but this looks a bit older possibly a WW2 era beret.   Does anyone know?

 

 

Khaki Berets of this type were worn in the late WWII period up till the 1960s by the Italian Airborne,  It probly is from the 50s. as here is a WWII one.

Thanks for the information.  The bullion beret badge in your link according to my reference is post war.  All of the WW2 era Italian bullion airborne beret badges of this type according to the book titled, "Elite Insignia Guide 2 Italian Airborne Insignia 1938 - Present" by Harry Pugh and Vittorio Piotti did not have the parachute as part of the design.  The parachute was added to this type of winged sword oval airborne beret badge after the war.
