There wasn't any caption, I just researched my books to find which vehicle it had to be. Here's a great model kit of it, for a Stug Batt.
March 21Mar 21 Author #4 Found another up close shot of it. 1942 USSR The commander of the vehicle looks like a Major or a Lieutenant Colonel, must be the Stug Battalion Commander then.

Ok, I’ll bite. How the heck ( I hope I can say heck here 😁) can you tell what vehicle this is from that picture? There isn’t much shown of it. Was that hatch unique to these? mikie
March 22Mar 22 Author #6 Yes mikie, it's the solid top with circular hatch and rectangle hatch that was unique to this vehicle which is based on the chassis and superstructure of the small 250 Half track, Plus the troops wearing the Field Grey Panzer uniforms with the Sturmgeschütz in the background tells us it's got to be that special haff track that worked alongside these vehicles, I just didn't remember off the top of my head what was called.
March 22Mar 22 #7 Many photos of this vehicle and the StuG uniforms in this book --> STUG III BRIGADE 191 The Buffalo Brigade
