I’m looking for some opinions on these german armbands here. I am no expert but want at least a few for my collection.  Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Ian.C22E5969-C568-4090-9501-C3598E55E9A9.jpeg.20ae969850b1287980f258b387d7edb3.jpeg01F2CF93-7DA5-474B-A75E-8E73BE895F7D.jpeg.399f689f8b5a8e5feb1fc4f3f1ffa918.jpeg7462E39E-6F05-4027-85E0-AE544DB37583.jpeg.923acfb87c1caa3c1e35f16edeaa7b9f.jpegBFD79B8E-983A-489C-9485-9A6C9A96F877.jpeg.f62edf15fc01eea937a4d2c9cf47a634.jpeg1E036C78-AD2C-4451-AED5-7030DBACF71E.jpeg.62a51e6d0315d0818968a32e57b3fbd3.jpeg213A18FF-187B-438A-A403-27D47012E597.jpeg.26ba6f4d907a43b21fce832d5fbf4a72.jpeg1EC76F6D-8E2B-4C4B-B041-7563128D9354.jpeg.a4c9f0b5a53e9f6e57f8797e9c8ba654.jpegFB71CEE1-DB76-46B0-973A-9A5A0315B83B.jpeg.8f334c067c208734d0095f41cfec6e64.jpeg3A4274EC-A77A-491D-8895-44C36742331B.jpeg.c388ce6e5ea9e4344e12b90f4864c0e4.jpegEE2B349E-77A9-41CC-B879-53A485B3D355.jpeg.ca790ad44bf7b397037e3ba24ebd643a.jpeg34252A75-B7B7-4D80-865B-E3DB70051FDE.jpeg.1b14602c56f304bf3ae2b6dfb40726e2.jpeg

It has been quite a few years since I last had armbands like these in my own collection. And maybe I am being too picky here; I like to reserve judgment until I can examine something in-hand and if that is not possible then I tend not to buy it. And wait for other opportunities. But I do not like the armbands shown. They all look far too new and armbands are so very heavily faked. And are those shadows on the armbands and not stains on the material?

The last armband pictured, white with the term Verpflegsobmann Nr. 9, to my understanding of German does not make much sense. Verpflegs means catering and Obmann is a masculine term meaning chairman, representative, and other (that are sports related) functions. So this indicates at least nine catering chairmen (if not more) or leading representatives at the same event? And only a male would have worn it, as the feminine equivalent is Obmännin. Unless I am reading it incorrectly (looks like a V is the first letter to me). Perhaps a native German speaking member here can assist us?

And on the subject of TR armbands, check out the staggering variety of all these repros:

https://murphsmilitaria.com/product-category/german/armbands/

These are all (at the above link) being sold as repros so there is no intent to defraud by this seller. However, I have come across instances of these same armbands being passed off as originals by others with much larger price tags and sometimes invented stories to match. Worthwhile to know what the fakes look like and how they are constructed as well as the genuine ones.

For Verpflegsobmann Nr. 9 I am getting Boarding Supervisor No. 9.

Something to do with trains?

I used GOOGLE TRANSLATE.

Verpflegs is an abrevation of "Verpflegungs" (food, rations), the translation of Obmann is chairman (female: Obfrau = chairlady). So a Verpflegungsobman would be a guy who cares for food or rations etc.

I'm going to have to yield to Proud Kraut.

What do I know?

I learned all my German from watching Hogans Heroes as a kid.

And you are for sure right regarding the "Supervisor". I think this fits much better here than "chairman", Thank you!

I’m pretty sure the Red Cross and woven Wehrmacht are good.

Wehrmacht armbands are very common, I’ve found a good bunch from vets but never saw a printed one.

Your food controller might be good and I say that because many of these unusual armbands were printed.

Hopefully someone who is into armbands will chime in.

Teamwork gets the job done - exactly!

I've never seen a printed Deutsche Wehrmacht armband in person before, but have heard about them. Far less common, I believe, than the woven/bevo ones. The printed one above sure looks sharp and new though, at least to me.

The Verpflegsobmann Nr. 9 armband looks just like many others that are sold by Murphs Militaria (linked to above) although I did not find that particular armband for sale there at this point; their stock does vary though. Everything they sell are repros and quite a few are total fantasy pieces, the construction & print for many of those types match the Verpflegsobmann Nr. 9 armband.

But to know for certain? Would welcome further information on this.
