October 13, 20223 yr Author #3 He did not serve in Spain. He joined the Legion Condor in 1938 and served honorably in Poland, France, Low Countries, Russia and back to France. He was involved with the Austrian Anschluss, Sudetenland Anschluss, Poland Invasion, Battle of France, Battle of Britain, Operation Barbarossa, and subsequent flight needs end of war. He made it though unscathed after serving seven years! That in itself is a testament of his service.
