hard to tell 100% from this pic, but I would say it looks like it could be real, although net and burlap were probably added. you may want to also post in the US military forum.

Not WW2. The liner is not US. Flea market junk. 

The liner is most likely Dutch, the shell might be Belgian or Danish.

Might be a real helmet, but it isn’t American and it isn’t WW2. Real (as opposed to fake or reproduction) is relative to what you expect it to be.
