I bought these on eBay:

They weren’t expensive and I have plans for using them in the display of my Arisaka Type 99 - but they were advertised as “genuine”. Assuming that wasn’t just hype (which would be okay), any idea on what they were for?

I have a single one, so maybe they were meant to be separated.  Haven't found out what mine was used for either.
