Paul Bäumer carrying Kemmerick's Private Purchase Boots from the Lazarett after he, Kemmerick dies of his wounds, These Boots were real comfortable then the issued ones remember, and a few Komrades of Kemmerick envied him.  Paul gives it to Müller, Müller is KIA as he leaves the Trenches, it passes to another man in the Zug, forgot who, he is KIA as well, and the Boots wind up being worn by Paul Bäumer. We see these are either newly made for the movie or an unissued original pair
