January 15, 20233 yr #1 Got this in a group of photos. I believe this shot to have been taken in the US. It's a WW2 British bomber. I think it is a Halifax bomber. But the top turret on the back is farther back than pictures I've seen. Something rings in my head as I think I've seen this shot before. I think it is from a famous visit to the US. Any further info appreciated.
April 24, 20233 yr #5 THE EARLY LANC'S HAD THE TURRET BACK FARTHER THAN THE LATER MkVII AND MkX. IT HAD TO DO WITH THE LATER TURRET'S BEING HEAVIER. SO IT GOT MOVED FORWARD SOME FOR LONGITUDINAL BALANCE. THE EARLIER HALIFAX HAD WAIST TURRET'S AND LATER HAD A DORSAL TURRET; AS FOR THE PICTURE; IT IS A NICE ONE. BEST; T BIRD
