March 1, 20233 yr #1 I was wondering if anybody had any information or anybody can tell me if this is an original or not because everything I'm seeing looks totally 1000% original I've been collecting military for over 35 years but someone else's opinion would be helpful
March 2, 20233 yr #2 The salt & pepper cloth is the typical dominant greenish material used by the Germans late in the war but it also carried over into police use after 1945. Can we see some photos of the interior construction and the back of the collar and tabs?
March 2, 20233 yr #3 The jacket is a real police tunic from what i can see, But i cant say to much about the SD patches or the collar tabs,
March 3, 20233 yr #4 The jacket does appear to be a real postwar police tunic. The wartime Sommer style Pol. (Schutzpolizei) tunics had closed collars while the postwar tunics had open collars like this. Interior construction will help sort out the time period of the tunic itself. Here is an example of the regular summer weight Schutzpolizei tunic in the standard active service cut. Notice the closed collar and lower pockets made without pleats. Also notice the six button front.
