All Original War Time Orpo Gendarmerie Tunic?

Featured Replies

Just purchased this tunic for a very good price, I have not received it yet.
Besides the fact that I'm certain it's an Orpo tunic of the Gendarmerie, I know little else. I would also assume a late war tunic.
If anyone has knowledge as to what this particular model is 'exactly', as well as any periods pictures in wear, it'd be great.

My main area of concern, being the shoulder boards. The "green" center, is typically unseen from the usual "dark brown" on police uniforms.

Though not who I bought it from, its a source from a "reputable" dealer (1944 Militaria) who I then bought it off "Epic Artifacts"
Thanks

Unfortunately your tunic is postwar.  It has postwar period issue stamps to the Hamburg Police.  It was made as an open collar postwar tunic with the plastic button at the throat.  The insignia has been added and the sleeve eagle has field grey Feldgendarmerie backing instead of green Ordnungspolizei backing.  The shoulder boards are postwar with green centers instead of WWII period brown.

Three strikes and you are out and this tunic has four +.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Hi,

Thank you.

This is already known to me as I posted it on another forum and was explained this. Hopefully, it won't be "mine" as I have not received it yet. But a clear, well explained explanation is excellent. Much appreciated.

You have a fantastic Polizei collection (I've seen the posts)
