A very nice early Artillery NCO.  What's on the shoulder boards?

Thank you

Forward Observer cipher, I’ll get a picture of it next time I go to my room.

Some new insignia. When you have nothing anything fits into the fold.

Sorry about the US insignia.

This weekend was tough for military. Between Thursday Friday and Saturday I must have attended over 100 yard in just one neighborhood with nothing to show military. Finally on Saturday at the last sale I go to  I found this made of plaster.

The ladies father had owned a pawn shop for 40 years and kept military. He died 15 years ago and her mom is getting ready to sell it all.

Didn’t go yard sailing but did go to the flea market. Matching K98 dated 1944 and has been arsenal reworked. The scabbard has been dented down the middle but for $100 I figured if I ever have to sell I should be able to get my money back.

I’m not familiar with these at all. The British commando knife was $10 with a broken tip and no markings whatsoever. The grip looks like painted zink which I’m not sure about so I’m wondering if this isn’t a reproduction

Lastly is a British Salvation Army medal for service in its original box $40. Loved the look and the price so I took it.

The commando knife does not have any marks at all. Does anyone know what it is? Is it a repro?

Looks like a legit 3rd pattern F/S knife.  Usually there was a number cast into the side of the pommel area, a 1, 2, 3 or 4.

Thank you Mr Jerry for your knowledge. No number on the pommel.

Yes it does L/11 Deumer scarce piece with the LDO number.

Here are more pictures. The core is non magnetic and looks to be brass.

I retested the core and it’s the proper early iron core with a copper plating.

Nice 👍

Deumer made some very nice, and crisply struck, Iron Crosses.  Nice catch, even though the WWI cross has a broken core.
