Hi Derf. I haven't the experience to say where that jacket is a reproduction or genuine stock but there are two things that I would be paying close attention to. Firstly the name looks as if it is freshly written. I would think that if the jacket had been washed the writing would have faded considerably. I have also searched for L. G. Ginart on Ancestry and Fold3 with none being identified. Secondly, the US Flag is sown over the top of the Sergeant's chevrons. I'd ask myself whether this man was a First Sergeant when the item was issued and did he remain at that rank for the whole time he owned the garment. If he had been promoted while owning the jacket then the top of the chevrons wouldn't be partially obscured by the flag. This could be an original that as had the patches added or a reproduction of which are easily purchased online. Just my thoughts that may assist you. Gunner...
