Seaforth Highlanders Uniform-Age and Value?

Featured Replies

Here's an interesting uniform. I've yet to find one for sale so I'm unsure of the value. Is this the 1915 model uniform? Any help on value and age would be appreciated. I've only seen some period pics of them and similar highlander outfits. Thank you!

Nice uniform there.

I think it might be the simplified pattern of the British Service Dress which was made sometime after the start of the First World War. I understand that Canada and New Zealand used the same British Uniforms as opposed to Australia using her own uniforms. That patch is that of the 72nd Battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders (Canada); you can also see the tunic 'cutting away' at the bottom, per the Scottish design.

If it is a real tunic, then it could be worth something like 500 Canadian dollars.. however I am judging off recent sales.

I cannot confirm much of the above as I am going off some basic knowledge on the topic.
