I have these 2 German helmets, I’m keeping one.

Fire/Police or Wehrmacht?

Note finish on M40 is that paint original? It looks odd?

If not both then the Army. It has the inner and outer bands for the liner and rivits and maybe washers. Rich A. in Pa.

I do like them both but I’d need to sell one so I was leaning towards the Fire Police to sell but I questioned the Army black paint?

With the sand mixed into the paint I wonder if it’s camouflage?

I would keep the WH helmet too.  More complete and representative IMHO.
