September 23, 20232 yr #1 Found this listing online. Just curious of your thoughts on it? Not very familiar with cloth covers. Also shell has been repainted at least twice as the interior looks like a tan type of paint. The rear split pin looks like some type of repair as well.
September 25, 20232 yr #4 I think it's a real deal M35 w/ early liner band that was issued to Norway post-war. Someone has painted it and put decals on there. Chinstrap is probably original too, buckle looks good. Original WW2 liner leather has been dyed the typical Norway red. I like it, I'd strip the paint off and return it back to Norway issue, the decals might be under there, the Norway ones are kinda rare these days. My two cents.
September 25, 20232 yr Author #5 I let this one go. Sold for $350 or $375 I think with a 20% buyers premium, plus shipping and handling arrangements to be made by the buyer - nothing handled by auction house.
May 17, 20242 yr #6 Seeing this late. This is a WWII German helmet given to Norway for reparations. They repainted the helmets, dyed the liners (& chinstraps) with an anti-bacterial (thus the deep maroon color), and issued them, using them into the 1960's. Then they were sold off by the thousands. This one was repainted, redecaled and sold (usually out of magazines in the 1970's). So it's real, but with new/fake paint and decals. They sell for the parts in the few hundreds...
