December 21, 20232 yr #1 This silk flag has been in my collection for several years. Can someone please identify the meaning behind the blue symbol on the flag? Should the flag be displayed with the symbol on the top or bottom? Was it manufactured for civilian or military use? Much appreciated, Patrick

December 22, 20232 yr #4 In conclusion, unfortunately I could not figure anything out about this. This is a prediction, but it seems to be for private use. The kanji for "元" is likely to be the initials of a private store or group name. It is often "元" pronounced "gen" or "moto".
