December 28, 20232 yr #3 From the top they look blue but from the bottom looking through the button hole they look brown. I don’t think they are Railroad, since they have a political RZM tag but SA. They look almost painted but it’s hard to tell from the pictures.
December 28, 20232 yr #4 That is a great observation PP.. I was thinking that the image was blurry and that the blue and yellow was blurred. But now that you mention it, it does look like they were painted. Here is a similar shoulder board in my collection with the same brown and grey colors.. I wonder if the board was painted to look like Reichsbahn by a member of the NSDAP who wanted to hide his true identity and affiliation to the NSDAP? Very interesting... Leigh

December 28, 20232 yr #7 In addition the boards are not a matching pair. One appears to be bigger than the other. One was for a tunic and the other an overcoat?
December 28, 20232 yr #8 These are definitely a conversation starter... I wonder what the back story was.. Perhaps we will never know but I really like them... The underlay should be red as PP has pointed out.. Probably one of the reasons why I had such a hard time trying to find a similar board in any Reichsbahn references I was looking through since these boards have the grey underlay.. PP has a very keen eye, pointing out the size differences as well... Leigh
December 28, 20232 yr #9 It’s a wonder I can see at all but it might be that someone was trying to match them to an SA district. They are bizarre
