February 25, 20242 yr #1 Got these for free and told they were french. Would these be correct for a vietcong impression knowing that the vietcong used leftover french weapons?
February 25, 20242 yr #2 French, post WW2, used in the 50's (possibly later, and for early Vietnam (Dien Bien Phu) I would imagine these would have been utilized by the Viet Minh and Viet Công. I don't have my Vietnam reference books available at the moment, but I think it is safe to say the VC used captured items such as these. Leigh
February 28, 20242 yr #5 These are covers for the Mle. 1952 canteen, the 1st model with a single set of snaps. While some may have reached Indochina, they were only seen commonly in Algeria and the chance the VC would have these would be pretty slim.
