My late father-law-law served in Germany during WW2.  I recently ventured into our attic and was surprised to find several large wooden boxes of German and US military relics and memorabilia (he never mentioned it).  It includes 3 rifles, 7 helmets, 6 daggers, 2 swords, a pistol, a luftwaffe map, a dozen or so flags and pennants, and various G.I. gear (canteens, mess kits, trenching tools, tents, a gas mask, a parachute and lots of clothing).  I’ve been able to identify many of the items and many I haven’t.  I could use some help, but I don’t want to overwhelm the site or wear out my welcome.  Any advice on how I should proceed?

Yes, show it all! You won't overwhelm the site but you might overwhelm our senses!! Sounds like some great stuff to show and tell.

Those WW2 GI's brought everything under the sun! Grenades, machine guns, live artillery rounds, Nazi silverware and everything they could fit in a duffle bag. If they had connections they could ship it home! I had a Japanese Arisaka that was shipped home from a Navy guy that was stationed off Iwo in the original box addressed to his brother in the states! God Bless every one of them. Ya I'm in, let's see it all!
