July 23, 20241 yr #1 Gents, I have a WWII (wartime) French Paris Police uniform that is missing a medal. I found a broken section of the double needle attachment of the ribbon to the uniform still stuck in the pocket flap. Now I know he was wearing a French medal but I have no idea which one. Were there specific medals for the Police Service? What medal would be appropriate for a Paris Policeman to wear during the war?

October 6, 20241 yr #3 The only one so far we found. Adopted in 1903, as Médaille d’honneur de la Police Municipale et Rurale, by 1936 it was called Médaille d’honneur de la Police français, it would be under this name when awarded and worn in WWII, as since 1996 it is now called Médaille d’honneur de la Police nationale.
