August 17, 20241 yr #1 Came across this interesting photo, caption states it's in the Hürtgen Forest, if it is, photo has to have been taken not in the Autumn of 1944 right, as the bushes and the like are green, like taken from the Spring of 1945 on, so I suspect the photo is captioned wrong, simply because we would think, that post war, the helmets and rifles would of been removed by Allied Authorities right, if not by individual GIs, maybe even locals.
