Naojiro Amaya (June 12, 1888 (Meiji 21) – November 30, 1966 (Showa 41)) was an officer in the Imperial Japanese Army. His final rank was lieutenant general. Order of the Golden Kite 2nd Class
He was born in Fukui Prefecture in 1888 (Meiji 21). He graduated from the 21st class of the Army Academy and the 31st class of the Army War College. In 1932 (Showa 7), he was appointed commander of the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the Independent Guard. In August 1933 (Showa 8), he was promoted to colonel of infantry and transferred to command the Utsunomiya Regimental District. In 1935 (Showa 10), he was appointed commander of the 42nd Infantry Regiment.

In August 1937, he was promoted to major general and appointed commander of the 10th Infantry Brigade. In 1938, he was transferred to the post of chief of the Sendai Army Training School. On October 2, 1939, he was promoted to lieutenant general and appointed commander of the 40th Division and deployed in the Second Sino-Japanese War. He was primarily responsible for maintaining security, but also participated in the Yichang, Yunan, Changsha, and Jiangbei campaigns, achieving success. On August 25, 1941, he was assigned to the General Staff, placed on standby on October 15, and transferred to the reserves on December 2. On November 28, 1947, he was temporarily banned from holding public office. signature general
