December 7, 20241 yr #1 Hi guys Just been reading a book I picked up lately, and i have got to say what an amazing book it is! Accounts from German soldiers that were on the Atlantic wall, on the beaches, in the bunkers and inland batteries, Telling their experiences of what it was like on D-Day. Its harrowing, fascinating and gives you a look from the other side, like stories I've NEVER heard before. Absolutely amazing book and the insight into how they felt about the allies and their viciousness. highly recommend!
December 7, 20241 yr #2 Thanks for the recommendation. I’d like to read this one. Many many years ago I read Invasion: They’re Coming, also D-Day from the German side. I have to admit that it took a bit of getting used to seeing it through their perspective. mikie
December 8, 20241 yr Author #3 Yes, we only ever hear and read about it from the Allies side really, the incredible D-DAY plan and execution, the heroism and the many stories...but to hear what it was like from the receiving side, what their thinking was of the whole situation and what they went through and saw in battles that day is truly fascinating!
