February 3, 20251 yr #1 THIS PISTOL HAS EARMARKS OF BOTH A WEBLEY AND A TRANTER. IT CHAMBERS ELEY 450 (ADAMS 450) AND IS LABELLED ON THE BACKSTRAP: R. JONES 6 CHAPEL ST LIVERPOOL IT HAS LOTS OF PROOF MARKS ALL OVER IT, ALL OF WHICH LOOK THE SAME BUT ARE VERY HARD TO MAKE OUT. THERE IS NO SERIAL NUMBER. HELP ME OUT
February 4, 20251 yr #2 This a copy of a Webley No1 RIC (Royal Irish Constabulary) revolver it may have been made in Belgium or maybe Birmingham sometime around 1870 ? These were available for purchase from certain outfitters in the United Kingdom. Of interest Brevet Major General George Armstrong Custer carried a pair of these (but made by Webley) on his last Campaign.

February 6, 20251 yr #4 The Liverpool address may be the Dealer, or it could be the owner of the pistol. I would lean towards a Belgium made piece because of the many proof marks, and lack of a serial number. on serial numbers sometimes they are hidden under the swing out loading gate, ejection rod or cylinder
