February 11, 20251 yr #1 Hello, I normally do not chase this type or artifact. But the price is right, so if is an original I will likely snag it. I know there are some serious fakes out there that are meant to fool. As this is outside of my wheelhouse, I wanted to ask for opinions for those who are better educated on these. I like the overall wear pattern. I have seen several of this type of 'snake' skull ring before which were assessed as genuine. I do not have the ring and had to rely on the sellers' pics. Ring is marked 835. Any help or opinion is much appreciated. Thank you.
February 12, 20251 yr #2 The dark patina might raise some alarms but the markings look good to me. Also, on one of the pictures it appears the ring has been modified and/or cut in half and then connected again. It is hard to tell if this is genuine, but to be honest I would stay way unless the seller provided 100% guarantee since there are a lot of fakes out there! Hope this helps.
