Here's a picture postcard of a decorated German Army Officer taken 1942. Do any old time collectors remember a militaria dealer in Fairfield, CT named Freddie Boes? Well, I believe this Army Officer was Fred's Father. If you remember Freddie, you might see a family resemblance. Freddie set up at the Stratford Gun Show at the Stratford, CT Armory. Later Fred ran a local militaria show in Fairfield, CT at the VFW Post near the Fairfield Train Station. Oh, the good old days....

I bought a German Luftwaffe engineer Generals uniform from him when his daughter got married and he needed funds.

 

He was known to peddle questionable items, but we always found something on his tables to add to our collections. He taught us a lot about collecting. Let the buyer beware! Freddie Boes was definitely one of the big dealers when I was growing up.
