February 20, 20251 yr #1 Got scammed out this helmet by Jeanne aka Robert Hawkins I believe out of the Northeast / possible NY area. It is rough, but just wanted a shelf sitter. Anyone else fall for their crap? My bad, just posting for information purposes.

May 19, 20251 yr #4 The 'haube looks fine to me...typical M1915. Liner is missing, as are the kokaden and chin strap but the shell looks in good shape. How were you scammed?
May 20, 20251 yr Author #5 Paid and not shipped. AND soooo... scammed. Seller even claimed to be a "Christian". I went against my better judgement on the deal, that's my bad. I know what happened and yes, I will publicly defame this person. If you know him, tell them they owe me.

June 19, 20251 yr #8 Easterneagle,did you order through USPS?, if so, did you track it, and if you went through the mail my understanding is it is a felony to commit mail fraud. If you have this guys address go the Post office and tell them. I'm just an old retired collector trying to help. Good Luck, Bill
June 26, 20251 yr #9 Let's all just take a breath. The OP did post enough of a warning in my mind and named the scammer. But this is a good cautionary tale for all of us, as I too have been scammed on a few occasions, and we try to learn from them and move on. One was a seemingly very nice girl in Davidson, Michigan, with a pile of WWII British uniforms and kit, that I was dumb enough to fall for her "use friends and family so I will get the money faster, otherwise they hold it for 30 days" only to have her never ship the stuff to me. The other was several thousand for a named D-day navy PH from a lady in VA (Thankfully Paypal got me my money back, as I refused to use F&F with her.) Scams are getting more and more sophisticated, with people stealing web pics of items they do not have (always a good idea to ask for unusual specific pics) and people getting really good at ghosting people. If it seems too good to be true- it may be, so "trust but verify". and NEVER use F&F or Zelle as there is no recourse.
