Hello everyone!

 

About a year ago a bought a part of a Panther tank road wheel: the tire retaining wheel. It is rather rusty, but what I saw from the remnants of the paint suggests it was dark grey.
However, the roadwheels with 24 nuts and bolts where used form August '43 onward, by then the tanks left the factory in Dark Yellow...
Does anyone know more about it?

 

This particular retaining ring has 44 holes, not uncommon I saw in the tank museum in Munster (DE).
