I have acquired the (1936?) Wehrmacht cigarette card book, but it was missing three cards.  I have since acquired these, but now am wanting to know what glue was commonly used back in the late thirties in Germany to affix them.  Does anybody know what brand and type of glues were available then?

UHU was an old German brand of glue that I think the company is still around.  As these were done by individuals, you would see a variety of glues used. I would think a mucilage type one would be fine.

OK - thanks!  I will look up the UHU brand!  About all the books I’ve seen have been very neatly glued, without glue spills, so I’m glad to know they were done by individuals.  “Ordnung,” for sure—
