March 18, 20251 yr #1 John "Paddy" Hemingway, an Irishman, has died at the age of 105 according to an announcement by the RAF.. He was regarded as the last living member of those RAF fighter pilots who flew and fought in the Battle of Britain. He had an outstanding career surviving 4 shootdowns during the War. He retired from the RAF in 1969.
