Good morning, all!  Since I retired in Dec. Against all expectations, I seem to be busier than when I was collecting a paycheck!  Been trying to find some intersection of time, energy and motivation to spread my activities beyond my near horizon ... guess this is that time.  I just joined the U.S. Forum and find this site equally wonderful!

 

Over the years I was a serious collector of Japanese samurai swords and Japanese art - that is, when they were affordable 😊 which is clearly no longer the case.  As some might recall I was very active in the field of military optics, especially Kriegsmarine binocs; another sector that's almost gone.  To that point, for many years my bricks & mortar store in Tampa serviced high quality optics.  I have a still have a number cannibalized pieces (somewhere in all the unpacked boxes😂)  and am always looking for MILITARY OPTICS PARTS.  Ditto for those wonderful wwii mechanical crypto devices which have gone the way of selling your children to afford 🙂  Forgot to mention, I love military clocks

 

Anyway, I claim no expertise, although I've had/seen alot, but will be gladly share any knowledge which I can still remember  🙂

Welcome aboard, I one found a real weird pair of binoculars years ago that said Funk something on them and painted a light gray color. I’d never seen a pair like this so at the Max show I put $1000 on them and they were gone the moment I put them on the table. Whooops

sounds iike the big clunky 10x80 AA 10x80 binocs with a four position filter knob.  Gray?  Maybe the KM version still 10x80 but configured differently.  I'd gladly pay a K for a KM pair today 😆 But you know depending on a whole lot, by may not have done badly.  If you get another, please give me a shot at them!
