May 19, 20251 yr #1 This is a new, larger Des Moines, Iowa, Military Show with 100 tables to be held in a separate room of the same building where the Des Moines Gun Show is held. In other words, the Military Show will have 100 tables in a separate room, and the Des Moines Gun Show has 530 Tables in a separate, larger room of the large 4-H building on the Iowa State Fair Grounds in Des Moines. All contact information and show details are on the flyer I have posted below. This show is purposely being held during the dates of the MAX Show, because the show promoters know there is a large number of Midwest Miliary Collectors and Dealers who are not willing to make the drive to the MAX Show at Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Best Wishes, Alan
September 27, 2025Sep 27 #2 As an update, I attended this show last weekend. I have attended the predecessor to this militaria show for years and I have some thoughts on the new show. First, I am supportive of all militaria shows and I hope this one takes off. I did see some new dealers from outside my usual prowling grounds and that was one of my hopes for this show. I was able to pick up a few things so the show was good for me. Two interesting things I picked up was a small Kindersabel made as a WW1 German Cavalry sword by Wyersberg. These small kiddie size swords are usually made by toy makers but this one was made by Wyersburg who was a sword maker. Another item that I picked up was a set of artificial oak leaves that attach to an Austrian steel helmet for parade wear. I have been looking for a set of these insignia for years. So, all in all a nice show that I hope continues.
