That’s why it’s in the Italian forum, the AA and BB serial number pistols were manufactured by Beretta, under the Italian Socialist Republic, after Italy capitulated in 1943, a lot of these pistols were sent directly to German units, hence why I might have posted on the German thread…
May 23, 20251 yr #4 Ok I got it. Underrated little gun. A friend’s father brought one home from WW2. The funny thing is that he was stationed in the South Pacific.
May 23, 20251 yr Author #5 Would interesting to find out how he came about the pistol… maybe some entrepreneurial transport pilot

The funny thing is that he was stationed in the South Pacific. My dad had one of those pistols when he was in the Navy in Europe. He bought it from one of his shipmates who was transferring out. When the war in Europe ended he sailed to Cold Harbor Alaska for "Operation Hula" Just before he was to ship out to Bremerton Wa. The pistol was stolen out of the radio shack desk drawer he kept it in. Sailors that took part in Hula for the most part went to the Pacific. I suspect that is where his ended up.
