June 7, 20251 yr #3 I have the navy machine gunner. I think that was a Pearl Harbor tribute set. I have about 5 tubs full of GI Joes and Ultimate Soldiers still new in the box. Leigh
June 7, 20251 yr Author #4 I had the 70's space capsule with the glow in the dark interior, when i was a kid. I busted it up pretty good. Good times! Jason
February 8Feb 8 #5 A bit late, I know! But I had 23 of these guys as a kid and ended up trading them away for some medals including a King and Queen's South African pair while I was in the UK back in the 1990's. -Ski
February 8Feb 8 #6 Sold all mine, except for the space capsule. Should had kept the space suit and helmet.
February 9Feb 9 #7 I had Joes and I had Stoney. Stoney could stand all by himself and he had better hands for holding guns. From my parents’ perspective I am sure he was way cheaper and had a lot of gear.

February 9Feb 9 #9 The only item left from fair collection of GI JOES I had, started getting them in 1966, the GI JOE Green Beret.

I marvel that anyone still has toys from their childhood. Their parents must have had big homes with lots of storage. When I was stationed overseas my parents moved to Florida and got rid of everything that belonged to me. Everything.
February 9Feb 9 #11 Marshall, I understand your parents point of view on affordability.. Although my parents didn't struggle, they were smart with their money and my sister and I still had some great memories of the toys we had. I still have my matchbox cars from the 70s and a few of my tonka trucks as well.. As far as Action Figures, GI JOEs were not on Santa's list of Christmas presents so I settle for and was quite happy with the action figure ACTION JACKSON from Mego Toys. Lots of different outfits and I had just as much fun with them. I still have the Action Jackson figure and all the uniforms and sets as well.. Later when my son was born he played with these and when he got a bit older we started to get some GI Joes but his favorite action figures were the ULTIMATE SOLDIER Series Action Figures. He still has many of them today as well.. My parents (father) just recently passed and my mother is in a nursing home, so my sister had to decide to sell the house and it's contents to pay for my mom's nursing home care.. I told her to sell all my childhood toys and things in order to help pay for the bills of the Nursing Home.. (Not Cheap in the Boston area)... Our son also thought it would be the best thing and he was not upset that he couldn't keep any of my toys from when I was a kid.... Anyway all my childhood toys were sold off at auction which helped a great deal in paying some of the bills.. No regrets as I still have the memories of growing up as well as all our family pictures of the holidays that I have to reminisce with.... Thanks for the great memories Leigh
