September 13, 2025Sep 13 #1 Attached are photos of two Kar98k ammunition pouches. The top is marked “Stecher Freiburg 1940” (Moritz Stecher Lederwerk - Freiburg), the bottom is marked “cgn 43” (Rohrbacher Lederfabrik, Josef Poeschels Sohne, Rohrbach). The overall pattern & construction of the two are virtually identical, including the internal rawhide separators. There are differences between the two with regard to stippling, blackening, and also the type of metals used in each (D rings, rivets, studs): Stecher: all non-magnetic (aluminum?) Rohrbacher: all magnetic (steel?)
