October 5, 2025Oct 5 #1 Hello, I picked up this set of epaulettes and troddle, I'm wondering if anyone here can ID the troddle... Or confirm if it's imperial German... I'm thinking maybe it went on a sword... I will say it does have a little weight to it but the long ribbon reminds me of the material Christmas bows are made out of..lol ..thanks

February 18Feb 18 #4 Definitely not German. Does look similar enough to the U.S. one shown to possibly be a variation made by a different manufacturer, "the same but different". Some typical German ones for sale over on WAF. Lance

Lance Thank you..... It's definitely not the quality as the German ones are and it does feel rather light compared to some of the German ones that I have..... Probably is a not very old US one... Thanks again
February 18Feb 18 #6 I don't know what it is but I know what it isn't and that is a US Navy knot. Assuming I am seeing it right on my monitor it has both silver and gold thread in it, US knots are all gold.
