Couple of wound badges

Getting around to doing some due diligence. The first looks alright to me, aside from the unfortunate broken catch. Am I right to assume this is a silver, based on the remaining wash on the back?

The second looks like a cast fake to me. Don't like the lines on the helmet and other details on the reverse in particular. But ready to be proven wrong, if this is just a variant I haven't seen before!
