Sharing my small collection of Hitler Youth related items. Perhaps members here give me more information on them.

- HJ knife, early motto type

- HJ/BDM scarf and knot

- HJ Armband, "BeVo" type construction

- HJ Belt Buckle

- HJ Membership badge

- HJ proficiency badge

- HJ "Jugendfest" 1937 tinnie

1. 1937 "Jugendfest" tinnie

A tinne given to HJ members who attended the "Jugendfest" festival, a scout jamboree-like event for the Hitler youth. As I understand.

2. HJ Proficiency Badge, Sliver grade

Awarded to members who passed a series of exams testing their physical fitness, academic knowledge, and ideological purity.  As I understand there were different color grades, but they were awarded based on age rather than how well you scored on the tests? Marked "AD. Schwerdt, Stuttgart 8930"

3. HJ membership badge

The basic Hitler youth membership pin badge. Marked "RZM M1/145"

4. HJ Belt Buckle, standard type

Standard HJ uniform belt buckle. Worn by most HJ members. Marked: "RZM M5/276"

5. HJ armband

Standard HJ armband or "Kampfbinde". Worn by most members. Mad of cotton, specially its "BeVo" type armband, as I understand. No visible stampings or markings. There's leftover black color threads fabric and pins holding it together. Makes me wonder if this came off a black HJ winter uniform?

6. HJ/BDM Scarf and knot

Basic black cotton scarf worn by most male Hitler Youth (HJ) and female League of German Girls (BDM) members around their necks. Secured with a leather knot or woggle. No tags, stamps or markings are present/visible.

7. HJ knife with belt scabbard

Standard HJ Knife or "fahrtenmesser" Early type with the motto of the Hitler Youth "Blut und Ehre!" or "Blood and Honor!" etched on the blade. Made by Carl Heidelberg of Solingen. Scabbard leather strap is also marked with "L *symbol* S" stamp. I don't know what this indicates. Probably the Scabbards maker mark?

Note; All these items were acquired separately. Not a grouping. Any further information, like if you know the what RZM codes mean, or if anything looks suspect. Feel free to comment.

I know at some point I'd like to aquire a hj shooting/marksman badge, and district sleeve triangle too and maybe some other tinnies. I think those would compliment these other items.

Looks like a nice grouping of things- The early dagger with the motto is nice, and although I have not seen a buckle marked that way before, I can't see any red flags that pop up on it.

IIRC it was purchased from the Ruptured Duck Militaria, or from EMEDALS.. I'm not 100% sure

Buckle - made by  Klein & Quenzer, Idar-Oberstein RZM M5/276. I have not seen a buckle marked that way so I Googled RZM M5/276 and found quite a few for sale on line from well known and respected dealers.

Thanks for the info, I bought it off EMEDALS. I wasn't sure, but now I see the old listing in the archive of their site.

Update, the newest addition to my collection, related to HJ items. A Christmas Gift to myself. An Enamel HJ shooting/marksmanship badge pin. I'm not sure if it's bronze or silver "level". it's hard to tell color. In pictures it looks bronze. IRL it looks silver... In any calse it's marked RZM M1/6320260103_195731.jpg.944d5d7ad71d6af689c3ebd52ad8ad11.jpg

Just acquired some more HJ related items. (Brithday presents for myself.)

1934 dated M31 Canteen, with belt hanger.  canteen is paramilitary/political/HJ type (basically same as regular m31 canteen but without the cup) Marked "HRE" for Heinrich Ritter, Esslingen.

Last photo shows HJ boys at camping event in full kit. Canteens are of the same type.

HJ Luftwaffenhelfer or "Flakhelfer" or "flak helper" unifrom breast eagle. Starting in 1943 HJ were drafted in to auxiliary luftwaffe support units to help with local air defense, airborne lookouts, operate search lights, or even man anti air guns. As the war situation got worse for the germans, younger boys were conscripted and even BDM girls.

When it comes to flakhelfer kids, I see a lot of variations in breast eagles, Some have this eagle, some have standard luft eagles others have none.

I like the standard grey M43 cap with the Luftwaffe eagle on the front.  Sometimes we see these Flackhelfer kids wearing the HJ diamond on the front peak of their Model 1943 cap.

Here is something you can be on the lookout for.  This is an HJ Honor badge award with the wide gilt edging.  Notice it is RZM marked and serial numbered on the back.  I picked this up as a "freebee" on a tunic that I bought at SOS years ago.

You are collecting some nice goodies.

Yes, I've seen those badges. I've kinda been building my HJ collection based around the idea of "what stuff did he average HJ boy have?". I still need need to get a district triangle patch or two. Maybe some more tinnies.
