British Indian Army 5th Division uniform and equipment

Thought I would share this small group to a Corporal in the British Indian Army's 5th Division. This unit saw action from the early days in Eritrea and Somaliland, through North Africa and Italy with the British 8th Army, and finally to Kohima, and Imphal in Burma and the liberation of Singapore.

So little is ever shown about the Indians who served the Empire and I have always found it to be a fascinating topic that when this uniform came available, and for a cheap price, I jumped on it. It pairs nicely with some field gear and a desert tan helmet. Some day I will add it to a full mannequin as I have the boots, socks, gaiters, and pants as well.     Scott

That is a great set. Just curious if any of the items were made in India?

As far as I know, just the jacket but to be honest, I never checked the pouches, straps, or belt, etc... Helmet is South African. Thank you for the kind words.   Scott
