February 26Feb 26 Solution #2 Looks like a Real German Army (not SS) pith helmet, but the felt ones never made it to Africa, they were mainly used in Italy. The feldpost stamp looks like a post war addition. You see the square edge markings of a rubber stamp, while real German stamps were circular (and metal). Also putting a feldpost stamp on a hat or helmet would make no sense.
